Before joining our sparring sessions, you’ll need to be approved by the coach. This ensures that everyone in the ring is safe, controlled, and capable of sparring responsibly.
You can request approval in several ways:
• Ask the coach after any Adult Class
• Discuss it during a 1-to-1 coaching session
• Or simply message/enquire about the possibility of sparring
The coach will assess your overall ability, including your:
• Basic technique
• Level of control
• Understanding of defence
• Fitness and conditioning
• Attitude and respect towards training partners
Approval isn’t about being the best — it’s about being safe, controlled, and ready to learn. Once the coach is confident in your skill level and discipline, you’ll be invited to join the Sunday sparring sessions.
The coach will stop the round immediately.
Safety and control come first — anyone ignoring rules will be asked to stop sparring.
It depends on your level and fitness. The coach will guide you through suitable rounds and rest periods.
Adult sparring is 18+ unless otherwise agreed with the coach.
